Embracing Hidden Valley’s Magic in a New Light

Osny Tobar • April 4, 2025

To all my sunset lovers, let me tell you about how Hidden Valley Wilderness Lodge showed me the most exquisite sunset views I’ve ever seen. I knew that the Sunset Experience would have been beautiful but I have no words that could possibly describe it; so let me try.

The feeling as you drive through the pine forests, chasing the golden rays of the setting sun; as it chases the shadows across the Mountain Pine Ridge. Hidden Valley really does something to you, because being able to watch mother nature do what she does best — there’s nowhere I’d rather be to watch sunsets at.

The Calm of Lake Lolly Folly

Getting to our first stop felt like a breath of fresh air — “Lake Lolly Folly” was still, not quiet, not empty — just peaceful. The kind of peace that makes you want to open a book and read to nature’s beauty and sounds. Lake Lolly Folly is man-made but the magic that makes it special is all Mother Nature. The way that it reflects the colors of the sky above, soft with a golden touch; it gives me the type of calm that seeps into your soul, the kind that doesn’t need to be rushed.

Tiger Creek Falls, Drenched in Gold

I’ve seen waterfalls before but never have I been blown at the sight of one. Standing before Tiger Creek Falls from the lookout point as the setting sun attempts to grasp every inch it can, bathing it with its golden light makes you witness just how beautiful nature can be.

In that very moment I simply cannot express how I felt, it was like something out of a movie or a book. I mean looking at something so breathtaking, I like to think that my reaction was pretty normal. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that we take this for granted, the way the sun shows off and creates a display that feels like Disney magic, a sight we didn’t know we needed to see.

Honestly it feels like nothing can top this but let’s keep finding out; I’m sure many of you have felt the same way about Mother Nature before.

Gazing at King Vulture Falls

More Waterfalls!

Our guide was incredible explaining that King Vulture Falls really does live up to its name; sadly I didn’t get to see any King Vultures but the falls definitely didn’t disappoint. I’m not going to lie; I stood here for several minutes taking in this sight. Working here, I knew Hidden Valley was beautiful but so far there are no words that can express just how amazing it is.

In the silence of it all I was in awe because I don’t think I could ever get tired of seeing this view. We stood on the edge of a cliff overlooking the valley, the falls and the way that the sunlight grazes the pine trees making it look truly astounding. In a way it makes you feel like you’re on top of the world and the view is your reward. Nature is like that, humble and beautiful; Mother Nature’s gentle reminder that she has been shaping the world for us to admire. It’s a beautiful reflection of the endless circle of life — always evolving and always inspiring.

The wind whispers in your ear, reminding you that so much beauty exists with needing to be asked.

A Toast to the Day at Bull’s Point

The Final Stop!

Really wish it didn’t have to come to an end; but I can’t say that it wasn’t great — Coming to Bulls Point was the Cherry on top!

As soon as we arrived we had barely stepped out of the car and were already greeted warmly by the Hidden Valley team. Offering refreshing cool towels, warm smiles and a welcome drink!

Definitely needed that drink!

I would never have expected that this experience would end with a brie board, wine, cocktails — it’s all there; but really it’s the feeling that stays with you. Sitting there, clinking glasses while the sun dips below the horizon; and the day turns to dusk, enjoying an unforgettable evening.

This experience is perfect for friends looking for the kind of memory to take home with or for couples looking for a perfect date idea.

Honestly, I can truly say that everything was PERFECT!

Final Thoughts!

If you love sunsets as much as I do, then this is the place for you! Working with the team I can honestly say that I see how much effort is put into making each of our guests feel welcomed. Here in the heart of the Mountain Pine Ridge is where I guarantee you will find peace, adventure and a little more. The Sunset Experience is definitely more than just a tour — It’s a love letter experience. Where nature puts on a display to impress, I’ve got to hand it to Hidden Valley, they knew exactly what they were doing with this experience.

Hidden Valley is a  home away from home that you never want to end.

So take it from me, I’ve seen first hand the beauty and charm that is offered here, long before I worked here I fell in love with this place and I know you will too.
